In June of 2006, a team from Mississippi went to Bolivia to continue work started the previous year.
In 2005, the supplies for an eyeglass factory were delivered to Bolivia and stored. This June, our team took those supplies and opened an eyeglass clinic. By the end of the week, 1,600 people had new prescription eyeglasses!
A street woman came in to the clinic, and was given her new pair of glasses. While there, a woman came in and had a pair of glasses made. She pulled out her needle and thread and immediately started sewing. She was a seamstress and had not been able to work because her vision got so bad. She came back later in the week to say that she now has a house, and will be able to work again, thanks to the glasses.
