ROW just returned form Honduras with tales to tell! Our friends
Israel, Mark, and Kenny welcomed 15 of us to a week of clinics, vacation Bible school, and construction.
Here are the
stats - 808 patients seen in clinic - yards and yards of concrete poured for the
new driveway at the main clinic site, and close to 3000 participants in
VBS!
Parents joined their children as Mark and Kenny involved us
in their annual hot dog dinner! Imagine being in a remote village and
sharing hot dogs, helium balloons, games, stories, arts and crafts, bubbles, soccer balls, family photo portraits and ICE CREAM with 1000
of your friends? We've never seen anything like it! While clinics were held under the trees or in a
home - other team members were busily sharing the story of the Gospel with eager children!
Trident Hospital in North Charleston sent a team of nurses,
respiratory therapists, and a social worker. P.J. and her team joined Drs. Harvey and Desiree in a team that was aggressively
compassionate! From pneumonia to infected thumbs - they saw it all and tackled each injury or disease with the quiet love you expect form
the best!! Bless you all!
Superman Trey, with
his side kick Jenni, joined Brittany, Debbie, and guest interpreter Sara Chater kept the troops spellbound!
BUT- Shovels of Glory, Wheelbarrows of Hope, Buckets of Goo led by
Steve and Debra did the concrete thing at the clinic!
Our trip report would not be complete without a special mention of Charlie,
"The Wayne Newton of Honduras" guitar in hand, Charlie led music at every
turn - and charmed a group of 12 lost Welsh kids with his rendition of "Puff The Magic Dragon" accompanied by a raging thunder
storm! He played a mean parachute with the kiddos and served as assistant director of clinic security under Terri's watchful gaze!
This was the ROW Team from Heaven! Charleston, Tijuana, Dalton and
Alpharetta should be proud! God bless you all for your tireless service - let's do it again!
