2008 was a good year for ROW.org! Between Jan 1st and Dec 31st, ROW.org had 36,045 visits with 74,892 page views. This nets an average of 2.08 pages per visit. The ROWServer served up 8.55 page views per hour, or 205.2 pages per day. There were 29,444 unique visitors in 2008, and 81% of those visitors were brand new visitors to ROW.org. This means that approximately 3 new people learn about Rivers Of The World every hour of every day.
In a world where you have about 15 seconds to capture someone’s attention with a web page, ROW.org visitors averaged almost 2 minutes per visit. And, this average was trending upward for November and December.
People are finding Rivers Of The World in three primary ways: 55.19% find the site through Search Engines of which Google and Yahoo are by far our largest referrers with Google outpacing Yahoo 7 to 1. 38.02% are locating ROW.org directly meaning they type in www.row.org into their browser. This would indicate that ROW printed promotional materials and Ben’s KLOVE radio spots are having a large impact on driving visitors to ROW.org! 6.76% of our traffic comes from referring sites such as churches, businesses, organizations, and individuals who link to ROW.org on their website.
The top 10 pages on ROW.org in order are as follows: Home Page, The People Of ROW, ROW Mission Statement, Contact ROW, Ben Mathes Bio, Belize Main Page, ROW Store – Apparel, Famous Easy Bake – Easy Ship Cake, Brasil Main Page and ROW 2008 Trip Schedule.
ROW.org had visitors from all over the world in 2008 including visits from 163 different countries or regions. We even had one visitor from Togo! The top 10 countries in order are: United States, United Kingdom, Canada, India, Australia, Mexico, Spain, the Philippines, Brazil and Germany. Mickie is apparently spreading the word about ROW, because we had 103 visits from Qatar. But I’m thinking we need to send a mission trip to Mongolia because we only got 2 visits from there and they need to step it up a notch! J
There were few surprises when looking at our visitors state by state within the U.S. As was the case last year Georgia topped the list. This is very understandable since Rivers Of The World is based there! But here’s the top 10 list of states in the USA that send visitors to ROW.org: Georgia, California, Texas, North Carolina, Virginia, New York, Illinois, Mississippi, Florida and Colorado. But 3 is going to have to set up some appointments for Ben to go preach in Hawaii, Delaware and Vermont since these three state respectively bring up the rear. From what I hear, Ben, they still have some jungles in Hawaii!
And finally, we have added greatly to the ROW internet network in 2008. ROWVotions has come into it’s own (Thanks Karen!) and ROWArt.org was brought online (Thanks Aldi!) Matt has set up our presence on GoogleEarth and Google Maps and has done a lot of work developing a social network for ROWNet and Facebook (Kudos, Matt!). The New Year will bring many, more changes to ROW.org and while we are not ready to unveil anything just yet, I’ll tease you by telling you ROW.org will never be the same after 2009!
