In 2008, $5000 was raised to build a new school for Prece. It replaced a school in a lean-to in someone’s side yard. This school is preparing close to 100 youth and adults to complete high school and to prepare for the vestibular into the federal university.
We raised $10,000 to pay salaries and build facilities to begin a sheep and goat raising project in the town of Cipo. This is where the original Prece school began thirteen years ago. The businesses we are funding and advising are the result of college graduates remaining true to their commitment to return to their rural communities and raise the standard of living. The funding for this business venture is the direct result of ROW’s mission trip in February 2008.
Another $10,000 has been committed to another business venture in a rural community outside of Fortaleza in 2009. We will lead a trip to Fortaleza and surrounding areas in the fall of 2009. If anyone or their church is interested in participating let us know.
