Graduation At The Sewing School for Single Mothers

By admin · Posted: January 25th, 2010

I am so excited to let you know of the 2nd graduating class from the Sewing School for Single Mothers in Tshikaji that is funded by ROW Congo-Kasai.Nineteen ladies graduated in December 2008 and now 30 more graduated on Jan 23, 2010! In June, seventeen of the first year graduates were earning a living for themselves. Pray these new graduates will also be able to support themselves and their children! This 12-month program included classes in French, math, a little science, a little geography, and sewing.

Kudos and thanks to all those who helped sponsor a graduate by contributing for one of the brand new sewing machines so each lady can launch her own business or in partnership with another graduate. Special thanks to Katrina and her educator friends in Nashville and other locations who gave generously and raise over $4,000 for these ladies to walk away with their new machines!
