Ultimate Meeting

Published by kclack under Friends

He walked up to the window of my truck at the gas station and I thought, “Oh, I’ve had it now!” I am a firm believer that God works out everything for our good and that nothing happens by chance. The guy turned out to be Shawn Powers. He is a new friend who lives in Jackson, TN and who listens to me on the radio.

I Will Help You

Published by kclack under Honduras, Travel

One of the joys of my life is taking someone to the mission field for the very first time. I cannot tell you how many times I have heard questions such as, “Is it going to be hot? Will there be bugs? Can I eat the food? Will they have a bathroom? Am I going to die?”

Distinctive For a Purpose

Published by kclack under ROWvotions, Serving

Here in the Deep South, things have a way of just slowing down in the heat of July and August. Yes, it does slow down because of the heat and humidity, but August is also the beginning of preparing for another school year, for football and for the assortment of activities in which our children are involved.

Blending Together

Published by kclack under Honduras, Serving

I just returned from a week of ministry in Honduras with 3, Rivers of the World’s (ROW) executive administrator, and a team of other folks. We were north of Tegucigalpa and south of San Pedro Sula. Our work was sort of near Taulabe and Siguatepeque. Did you get all that?

Possessions

Published by kclack under Giving, Scripture

I don’t want to dwell upon this but I recently helped my parents move and I learned a lot from that experience. We carried out more stuff than you could ever imagine! I came across VCR tapes that were 30 years old! Give me a break! There were so many things that I came across that I just knew no body would ever use.

Glorious Heritage

Let’s do a quick survey. If you are expecting a new baby in your family, then please raise your hand. My hand is raised because I am going to be a grandfather in January, but that’s not the point I want to make. My point is I wonder if you as thrilled as I am that you live in a country that offers you incredible healthcare for you and for that new baby.

Gain Wisdom

Published by kclack under Scripture

Okay, I confess, sometimes just by being me I can get into such a hurry that I forget about those things that I could learn from those around me. When I was a young teenager, I helped dig ditches as part of constructing a hotel in Florida. There was a young teen beside me digging the same ditch and he was from a Spanish-speaking country.

New and Exciting

I don’t know about you, but I just love new things! For instance, new clothes, new shoes or even a new car! Anything new is always exciting! The new thing with Rivers of the World (ROW) is that we are building a new barge in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Tender Care

Do you have a dog that travels with you? My dog, Winston, traveled with me for 12 years. On one occasion, we were riding in my truck, which had no top and no windows. I stopped to get gas. As I was pumping gas, I noticed how well Winston was behaving. He wasn’t chewing up anything!

Gentle Spirit

Published by kclack under Scripture, Witness

Okay, I need your advice on how to deal with difficult people. The difficult people I am referring to are folks involved in radical Islam. Through my travels, I have confronted radical Islam through the Iranian Revolutionary Guard based in Nicaragua, through Al-Qaeda in Iraq and through the Sunni Muslim Palestinian Islamic organization, also known as the Islamic Resistance Movement, which has infiltrated parts of Paraguay.
