Each Part Is Necessary

Published by kclack under Ecuador, Peru, Rivers, Serving

Some of us serve as Sunday school teachers at our church, some as nursery workers, some as greeters and some as janitors. Regardless of our roles in the ministry, each part is vital and necessary.

Seek the Lord Your God

Published by kclack under Faith, Hope, Scripture

Despite the fast paced society in which we live with all its modern conveniences, we still wait for many things. We wait in traffic, for our meals to be served, for our vehicles to be serviced and sometimes we even wait for Sunday sermons to be over.

For His Honor and Glory

Published by kclack under Africa, Danger, Serving

It is funny how one word can mean different things to different people. Such is the case with “wizard.” For some people, when they hear the word “wizard” they think of a witch with magical powers. However, if you look closer at the definition for “wizard” you will discover that it also means a person who is knowledgeable about something.

Diligently Prepared

Published by kclack under Jungles, Serving

Despite modern conveniences, sometimes things just simply fail to perform as they were designed. We had a water purification system that was supposed to purify 5,000 gallons of water. As we were deep in the middle of the jungle, depending on this system for clean, safe water, the thing broke after purifying around 5 gallons of water.

Published by kclack under Congo, Serving

I hear it all the time, “I’m just too…young, old, smart, dumb, fat, skinny, poor, rich to be able to serve the Lord.”

Care For Those in Need

Published by kclack under Congo, Giving

A well is needed to provide clean water for these 400 children, the staff and teachers of the orphanage, the clinic and the school. The cost is $26,000 for a well, which would provide this basic necessity of life.

Thoughts of Home

Published by kclack under Congo, Giving

I do so enjoy Girl Scout cookies! So much so, that I even carry a box with me when I am out in remote jungles. It is amazing how one simple box of Girl Scout cookies can lift spirits and change moods. When we are surrounded by nothing but the jungle canopy and everyone is depressed or discouraged, eaten up with bugs and weary from the hot weather, I pull out a box of Girl Scout cookies and instantly, life gets good again!

Your Most Treasured Possession

Published by kclack under Scripture

In many homes, there are trinkets stuffed in an attic, collectibles buried in a safe place and treasures stored for safekeeping. In my office, I have a collection of compasses, some that date back to 1812. Through the years, these compasses have been collected from about a dozen different countries. No matter how old or how new the compass is, if you line them all up they all do the same thing…point to magnetic north.

Draw From His Strength

Published by kclack under Africa, Serving

Picture this: a group of young people gathered together in a remote jungle area in Africa painting a hospital. Paint is flying from the paintbrushes onto the surface of the hospital when a government bureaucrat appears wanting to see what these young people are doing.
