You know, it seems to me that supporters of Rivers of the World (ROW) have been praying for my family for years. I want all of you to know that I am so grateful for your faithful prayers, especially for my youngest son, Adam, who served three tours in Iraq in the Marine Corps.

Throughout my house are three old clocks that teach me something new each day. I finally got around to winding them all up and they now pleasantly go tick, tick, tick, each at its own pace. One clock runs too fast, one is too slow and one clock almost keeps perfect time.

Our team worked among the Warao tribe in a remote area of Venezuela planting the Gospel by using copies of the Jesus Film translated into their language.

After escorting the ladies to their seats, the Marines continued to march right down the center aisle.

The day began with us checking out of the hotel and then stopping at Duc Son Orphanage, operated by Buddhist nuns. Nearly 200 children are housed here. The orphanage is expecting an additional 10 more children in a month. Needs identified included money for milk and food. Packets of nutritional supplements, baby bonnets and a couple traditional facemasks for celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival were provided.

After a brief stop in Da Nang at the Children of Vietnam office and a stop at a marble store near Marble Mountain, we were on our way to Hue. We opted to travel through the Hai Van Tunnel, which is nearly four miles long and cuts a considerable amount of travel time from Da Nang to Hue.

Another exhilarating day Monday, Sept. 14 for the ROW team in Vietnam! The day began with us picking up the folks at the Children of Vietnam organization and heading to the Hoa Vang district. Stopping at a community center, we were met with eager children awaiting new bikes and calculators (a total of 20 each). A representative with DOLISA, who serves as a representative for the children in the district, and the vice chairman in the district, were present to greet ROW and the Children of Vietnam (COV) representatives.
