Are you ever so busy that is seems as if your life is slipping through your fingers and you can’t seem to get a grasp on the time that is zooming by? I had one of those days recently where I was so incredibly busy and it became utterly apparent that 3, Rivers of the World’s (ROW) executive administrator, was also very busy!

Responding to God’s call is just not that difficult. You just have to do it. We had received word that there were children dying in a hospital in southern Belize. To me, that is absolutely not acceptable. We were told that they were not dying because of poor treatment, but instead, because that hospital didn’t have the equipment necessary to keep those children going and growing.

Okay, I’ll be man enough to admit that with my family scattered all over the world it is easy to kind of revert back to an animal instinct way of life. Recently, we had two wonderful friends staying at our house in Georgia. Drew, a Rivers of the World (ROW) staff member, and Katie, a new friend who has helped ROW, were visiting.

I suppose I never really thought this was important, but apparently the 118th Psalm is considered the middle of the Bible. That piece of information isn’t significant but what is important is how this chapter begins and ends. In Psalm 118:1 (Amplified) we read:

Be honest, what do you normally do when God tells you to do something that you really do not want to do? If you desire to remain in His will then it would be in your best interest to be obedient to His leading. Our ministry at Rivers of the World (ROW) is centered along rivers, often located deep within jungles.

I confess that there are times when I am so wrapped up in international issues, problems within our own government and the strange things that take place by our own administration that I overlook the little things in life.

Okay, hold onto your seats because I have a new idea that you are just going to love! Many of you know about the mission of Rivers of the World (ROW), which is to target river basins and serve with the people who live in these areas. We are asking everyone who listens to us on the radio or checks us out online to send in ideas for new rivers for ROW to visit.

If there is one thing that I know, it is that our Lord has a sense of humor and loves it when we are thankful. It has been raining here in Dixie for quite awhile so most days you don’t really need a pair of sunglasses. I was driving across Georgia during a thunderstorm when all of a sudden the clouds began to part and the sun began to shine. That was fine but I couldn’t find my sunglasses!

Guess what? It is that time of the year again when I hit the road and visit churches throughout the U.S. I’d love to come visit your church, hint, hint! I was just at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Atlanta. While attending the weekly Family Night Supper on a Thursday night, I noticed hundreds of little children amongst all the families. Boy, if you could just capture all that energy!

The annual Rivers of the World (ROW) board meeting was held recently and it was a lot of fun. Yeah, right! All kidding aside, it really was fun. All the ROW staff, board and others gathered for a dinner, we prayed and then we began discussing everything from finances to new ideas and exciting ways to continue serving the Lord around the world.
