Show Mercy

Published by kclack under Belize, Love

Sometimes I get so busy with the task at hand that I forget some of the basics, such as showing mercy and compassion. The Lord is so gracious to go out of His way to remind me to care for others.

Go God!

Published by kclack under Worship

Social sites on the Internet have gotten my attention. My young staff insisted I create a “spacebook” and “myface” page, or whatever they are called! Do you know what seems to be the most popular discussion on these sites this time of year? People spend hours on these sites and they post all sorts of things to let people know they’re rooting for their particular football team!

Take a Risk

Published by kclack under Friends, Scripture

Perhaps you have heard the saying, “Your hurt is my pain.” Not too long ago I took some time out of my schedule to sit with a precious friend of mine whose wife is struggling with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, a neurodegenerative disease affecting the nerves in the brain and spinal cord.

Satisfied

Published by kclack under Blessings

Sometimes I think a chicken is nothing more than a turkey that just hasn’t grown up! If you are in the chicken or turkey business, please don’t be offended by that! I am simply trying to encourage people to be thankful this Thanksgiving.

Deceived

Published by kclack under Scripture

I woke up at 5 a.m. on a recent morning and I was as angry as a wet hen! I felt so dumb that morning because I had ordered flowers from a company that has three initials in its name. I had ordered the flowers on-line and during the process I noticed some information indicating that I could receive a discount. All I had to do was simply click on a link. Sounded easy enough. It was quite simple until I received my American Express bill!

Call on the Father

Published by kclack under Hope, Love

Sometimes it feels to me like God moves the whole world just to make things happen for the good. A woman in Virginia heard Rivers of the World (ROW) on the radio awhile back and decided to begin supporting us through her organization, An Open Chair Inc. She provides us with little white chairs that have the words, “Be Still And Know.” We use the chairs in our ministry to remind people that the Lord is near to them no matter what they are going through.

Changing Seasons

Published by kclack under Hope

I was lying in bed on a recent morning when suddenly I awoke from the season of fall blowing into my window. My goodness, a blast of cold air shook me out of the bed! I looked outside and could smell the sweet aroma of wood smoke and I could see that the leaves on the trees were starting to change to brilliant colors. All of this meant that life was transitioning into another season.

Model Integrity

Published by kclack under Congo, Giving

Please, if you see something that is wrong do not walk by, do not ignore it and do not forget about it. Instead, do something about it! For the first time in over 30 years of ministry, I had a church call me and tell me that they needed their contribution back that they had given to Rivers of the World (ROW) because their church was going through a difficult financial time. The person who called me was so embarrassed. Of course we sent the money back to them.

Second Greatest Command

Published by kclack under Friends, Love, Travel

Has the current economic crisis of our nation and the troubling times abroad prompted you to make some extreme changes in your life? Many people are overwhelmed with fear because their financial situation has changed drastically. I can get scared as well from traveling to so many different places. It would be easy for me to think, “I don’t know anybody in this place and this is going to be frightening because everything is new and challenging.”
