Be Like the Father

Published by kclack under Scripture

This is the way it is supposed to work. My friend, Brian, is from Zimbabwe and he landed a job in Central America that made him sick. To be treated, he ended up in a hospital in Houston, Texas. Since I live in Georgia, what was I to do to help my sick friend who was so far away?

Thirst No More

Published by kclack under Blessings, Scripture

Today, I am thanking the Lord for fast reflexes! I was sipping a cup of tea with a friend of mine at a local coffee shop when I excused myself to go use the restroom. I was wearing a particularly nicely starched blue denim shirt and I had my glasses in my shirt pocket. I turned around to flush the toilet and I didn’t realize that my shirt was so slippery! My glasses fell right into the toilet the very instant that I had pushed the handle to flush the thing.

Brief Span

Published by kclack under Iraq, Love

Every time I head off to a combat zone, two words invariably go through my mind. As I was preparing to head back to Iraq on April 19, those two words were bouncing around in my head. They are, “What if?”

Carry the Word

Published by kclack under Family, Scripture, Travel

Now don’t any of you accuse me of witchcraft, voodoo or superstition because of some of the things that I carry with me on my travels. I would like to hear some of your stories, though.

Face It

Published by kclack under Scripture

You have put it off long enough and you know that you must face them and it probably will not be easy. Have you thought about how you’re going to do this? Will you cower, not show up or will you simply try to make excuses? Perhaps you will just attempt to blame somebody else.

Devil’s Schemes

Published by kclack under Witness

I am just convinced that the devil puts things in our path to try his best to discourage us. I have been trying to make my computer work for longer than I care to remember! I get so frustrated when I deal with computer problems because I have people located throughout the world who wait to hear from us and they just need to know that the Lord and Rivers of the World (ROW) are on their side.

Tame the Tongue

Published by kclack under Scripture

I am not one to laugh at somebody’s misfortune, but there are times that I cannot help being tickled because a story is just so funny. My friend, Billy Ray in McComb, MS, was cooking barbecue and beans for a mission’s conference at a local church. He was walking across the church parking lot with two 5-lb cans of beans in a paper bag. The bag suddenly ripped open and one of those cans of beans fell out and landed right on Billy Ray’s big toe.

Lost and Found

Published by kclack under Jungles, Rivers

For some reason, business executives seem to get a big kick out of having me come to their office because they know that I will dress funny, I will say the wrong things and it will be obvious to all that I feel out of place.

Family Responsibilities

Published by kclack under Family, Scripture

We just celebrated Easter and now it’s time to celebrate the birthday of my youngest son, Adam, and my mother. While rejoicing in our risen Savior, I’m trying to figure out how to get all the family to come from here, there and yonder for a big celebration.

He Conquered it All

Published by kclack under Iraq, Witness

Many of you know how much I love Christmas. I also enjoy celebrating Good Friday but it is all about Easter for those who serve the Lord. I do hope all of you had a blessed Easter and were able to reflect upon the fact that we serve a risen Savior.
