Gain Wisdom

Published by kclack under Scripture

Okay, I confess, sometimes just by being me I can get into such a hurry that I forget about those things that I could learn from those around me. When I was a young teenager, I helped dig ditches as part of constructing a hotel in Florida. There was a young teen beside me digging the same ditch and he was from a Spanish-speaking country.

New and Exciting

Tender Care

Published by kclack under Scripture

Do you have a dog that travels with you? My dog, Winston, traveled with me for 12 years. On one occasion, we were riding in my truck, which had no top and no windows. I stopped to get gas. As I was pumping gas, I noticed how well Winston was behaving. He wasn’t chewing up anything!

Gentle Spirit

Published by kclack under Scripture, Witness

Okay, I need your advice on how to deal with difficult people. The difficult people I am referring to are folks involved in radical Islam. Through my travels, I have confronted radical Islam through the Iranian Revolutionary Guard based in Nicaragua, through Al-Qaeda in Iraq and through the Sunni Muslim Palestinian Islamic organization, also known as the Islamic Resistance Movement, which has infiltrated parts of Paraguay.

Time Is on Our Side

Published by kclack under Congo, Hope

We sat by the Congo River for almost an hour without saying a word to each other. One of Rivers of the World’s (ROW) Congo directors, Omba Ngandu, sat with me next to the famous Stanley Pool, now called Pool Malebo. The pool is a large lake-like structure at the lower reaches of the Congo River.

Like Wildfire

Published by kclack under Honduras, Travel, Witness

One of the highlights of me passing through airports this time of the year is seeing so many of your children. I see groups of kids heading off to one of two places. They are usually participating in their first tour of Europe or they are going on a mission trip overseas.

All Within View

Published by kclack under Children, Countries, Travel

I have an idea that really makes sense to me and I would like to explore it further. Rivers of the World (ROW) serves in 21 different countries from one corner of the earth to the other. We serve in some of the most remote locations left on earth, and I believe, we serve with undoubtedly some of the most wonderful people in the world.

Look After Orphans

Published by kclack under Children, Haiti

Honestly, some things are just as plain as the nose on your face. One of the byproducts of the January earthquake in Haiti has been the creation of thousands of orphans. Rivers of the World (ROW) is doing its part in alleviating some of the orphan problem by constructing an orphanage in the nearby Dominican Republic.

Long Journey

Published by kclack under Blessings, Congo

Sometimes the road with our children seems so long, but the journey is often worth it. Did I ever go a long way recently to get to the end of the road! The road was dusty and I could see the river on the right and the jungle on the left. I felt every single rut in the road!

Liberating

Published by kclack under Countries, Scripture, Travel

We just celebrated Independence Day in America and I want to ask and answer a question at the same time. I wonder, what does it mean to be a Christian American on the Fourth of July?
