A New Day

Published by kclack at 9:31 pm under Scripture

The school bells can be heard ringing in the distance—it is that time of year again for our children to return to school. Soon, there will be much more silence at home!

Many children return to the classroom carrying school supplies, including brand new, blank notebooks. Children are able to write, draw, be creative and express their ideas amongst the pages of these notebooks. A new notebook is one of the most challenging and exciting things I have ever had.

Did you know that in Jesus Christ the old is past away and the new has come? His word proclaims this in 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV), which says:

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

Each day that the Lord gives us is a promise of His love. It is a new opportunity to have a fresh start. If there is any unforgiveness in your heart or any sin that you simply can’t seem to let go off, I encourage you to begin this day asking the Lord for forgiveness. He assures us that His mercies are new every day.

With your heart pure before God, ask Him what it is that He wants you to accomplish for Him today. I challenge you to find creative and exciting ways to serve the Lord and to love one another with each new day the Lord gives you.
