Administer God’s Grace

They’re here! I can’t wait for you to see them. Check out the downloadable posters at www.row.org. They are creative, informative and a great way to let people know about Rivers of the World’s (ROW) new Fleet Fund. ROW has set a goal of building five new ships in 2009. These small ships will be used to provide microeconomic opportunities in remote jungle villages, predominately in Central America. Each ship will cost $15,000, which includes the boat, motor and enough fuel to do ministry for a year.

ROW has also set a minimum goal of $165,000 to finish a new hospital ship that will serve 1.2 million Yagua Indians in Peru.

ROW’s graphic artist, Liz, has come up with some incredible posters. One of the posters actually features ROW’s Executive Administrator, 3, as Rosie the Riveter saying, “We Can Do It!” And you know what? We can, with your help! We can get out there and change the world for the Lord despite what seems to be the worst economy in a lifetime. I’m sick of hearing that so let’s show the world that God is ultimately in control, even of our finances. Take a moment today and pray about becoming a Friend of the Fleet.

As Christians, we each have unique gifts and talents designed to further the Kingdom of God. We read in 1 Peter 4:10:

“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”

Do you have a gift with teaching others? If so, use it to spread the Good News by teaching a Sunday school class. Is your gift giving to meet the needs of others? Then sacrificially give to missions at your church or provide funding to a non-profit Christian organization to further the work of Christ. How about serving? If this is your gift, then prayerfully consider taking part in a mission’s trip, perhaps with ROW. Whatever your gift is, do it all for the honor and glory of Christ.
