Alone With God
You might not believe this but I am now up to 127 bug bites! I got each one of those bites while I was in Monkey Point, Nicaragua recently. I am just scratching myself like crazy, but, I am used to it!
I have returned home with a message from the folks of Monkey Point. They asked me to let people know that they need everyone’s prayers. Monkey Point is inhabited by the Rama and Creole communities, which are in the middle of a struggle with people from Iran who have landed in the area with the intentions of constructing a deep water port in their town. The Iranians also intend on building a dry canal across Nicaragua for the transportation of containers of merchandise from the Atlantic to the Pacific coast. Monkey Point would be the site of the Atlantic port and the start of the dry canal.
I ask you today to join with me in prayer for the people of Monkey Point. The land is theirs, God gave it to them, and these people simply feel it is not right to have strangers impose themselves upon the people of Monkey Point.
If you are not already in the habit of getting alone with God each day and praying, let me remind you of Christ’s example in Mark 1:35, which says:
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”
Before you even think about starting your day, find a quiet place to get alone with God and be still so that you may more clearly hear His voice.
