An Encouraging Word
It is Monday morning, the alarm clock alerts us that it is time to get up and get ready for work. We hit the snooze button and roll over to catch a few more minutes of sleep. Some of us just have a difficult time functioning in the morning.
Well I have a 1978 Land Cruiser that I drive and he sometimes has a hard time going in the mornings. “Booger,” as I affectionately call him, occasionally just needs a jump start to get him moving. We have to pull out the battery, connect the battery to the cables and then connect those to “Booger” to get him up and going. He then runs just fine.
People are like that sometimes, they just need a little “jump start” to get them going. The next time you see your friends or family a little down or discouraged, perhaps all they need is a spiritual jump start. Be bold and pat someone on the back, look him or her in the eyes and say, “You know what? I hope God blesses you today because you are a blessing to so many others. May God bless you and may you have a great day.”
Paul instructed believers of long ago to daily encourage one another. In Hebrews 3:13 he said:
“But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.”
Take that step today and be an encourager to someone you know who needs a spiritual “pick me up.” By the way, may God bless you today and may you have a great day!
