One Lord
One of the highlights of my travels is visiting with folks across our radio listening audience. I recently had so much fun visiting two churches in Omaha, Neb. Several of the men took me hunting and we just had the best time! They took a Georgia boy out in nine-degree weather and about a foot of snow! It was incredible.
After my hunting excursion, I attended a men’s dinner. People came from all around Omaha. We ate some of the best venison and elk—the best I had all day long! The greatest part about visiting with our radio listeners is we all have one thing in common—our love for the Lord. This gives us a foundation for friendships that just can’t be beat.
Regardless of our denomination, if we have accepted Christ as our Lord and Savior, then we are all part of one body of believers. Paul tells us in Ephesians 4:4-6 (Amplified):
“[There is] one body and one Spirit—just as there is also one hope [that belongs] to the calling you received—[There is] one Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of [us] all, Who is above all [Sovereign over all], pervading all and [living] in [us] all.”
It is great to fellowship and worship in our home church, but let me encourage you to take time this week to also fellowship with other Christians. Go out to lunch and spend time talking about how good the Lord has been in your life. Attend a Christian concert and unite together in worshipping Jesus. Above all else, take time to encourage and build up those in your church and those serving the Lord elsewhere.
