Three worship services, two trips to the mall and traffic for everyone! It is that most wonderful time of the year—Christmas. So, are you going crazy yet? I have written checks to everybody, I know I have bought presents for people that I don’t even know and I have even bumped into myself carrying packages. I am at home on rivers and in jungles where it is hot and steamy. I am not crazy about mountains and cold weather, and yet, I found myself in the back of a pickup truck headed into the mountains where it was cold. I could not get out of the truck as it continued its climb up, up and up into the mountains.

I have had my fill of hurricanes, especially after riding out Hurricane Mitch, which struck Central America in October 1998. We huddled together and spent our time on top of Mayan ruins sending back e-mails and radio interviews as the hurricane swirled all around us.
