People often ask me how I manage to travel to so many countries and cities every year and keep my wits about myself. Are you ever selfish with your time, money, food, gifts, love, acceptance and forgiveness? While ministering in northern Iraq, I experienced an unselfish act of kindness that really touched my heart.

I am at home on rivers and in jungles where it is hot and steamy. I am not crazy about mountains and cold weather, and yet, I found myself in the back of a pickup truck headed into the mountains where it was cold. I could not get out of the truck as it continued its climb up, up and up into the mountains.

I have had my fill of hurricanes, especially after riding out Hurricane Mitch, which struck Central America in October 1998. We huddled together and spent our time on top of Mayan ruins sending back e-mails and radio interviews as the hurricane swirled all around us.
