Be Blessed
Have you ever been in a library and had people ask you to hush because you started making a little too much noise? Sometimes it is difficult being quiet in a library when you see all the books, magazines, videos, posters and computers available.
As Christians, we know we still have the right to proclaim our faith in Jesus Christ loudly and boldly in America. We also know there are countries around the globe were Christians are prohibited from sharing the Word of God. Christians around the world suffer beatings and are imprisoned and kidnapped for their conversion to Christianity.
I traveled in a country where Christians are not free to express their belief in Christ. We were told that if we evangelized we would be put in jail. We discovered if we could strike up a conversation with people, hand them a Gospel tract and say, “Here’s some interesting reading” then we could simply let the Word speak for itself.
We should not be surprised when we face opposition from non-believers and experience ridicule for our faith in Christ. The Lord told us this would be the case, as plainly stated in Matthew 5:11:
“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.”
As the time for Christ’s return draws nearer, we can be assured that we will face much persecution, even here in the United States. I challenge you today to find creative ways to evangelize—improvise without compromising. Talk the talk, walk the walk and allow God’s word to speak for itself. Do your part as a Christian to point people in His direction and allow the Holy Spirit to do the rest.
