Be Zealous For Him
Don’t you just love days when the sun is shining bright, the sky is clear, and the air is crisp and clean? It has a way of lifting our spirits. Not only do I love days like that, but I also enjoy spending time with people like that.
I just had lunch with my friend, Christine, a recent graduate of Davidson College in North Carolina. The Lord has called her to spend a year of her life in Malawi, located in Southern Africa near the Indian Ocean. It is called “the warm heart of Africa” because of the friendliness of the Malawians.
Christine has been called to work in an HIV/AIDS program that is desperately needed. When we shared lunch together, she was so enthusiastic and passionate about what the Lord has called her to do. I just found our visit so uplifting. What drives you for the Lord’s sake? What are you passionate about? What areas of your life are you enthusiastic in for Jesus?
I encourage you today, Christian, to discover those things, claim them in Jesus’ name, act on them and be zealous for Him. We are commanded in Romans 12:11:
“Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.”
