Beautiful Praise

[ 0 ] March 8, 2008 |

Those of us who choose to hang out in remote jungles are seldom referred to as chic, sophisticated or classy. I had a wonderful opportunity to be immersed today into some classy culture while visiting with Rivers of the World’s (ROW) administrator, 3.

I had just dropped off some stuff with 3 and I must admit, as I sat down, I was quite hungry. My nose got a whiff of her food and I said, “You know 3, those biscuits sure look good.” That is all it took and 3 gave me two biscuits with honey so I could have breakfast. But in this case, it was breakfast and a show. Her precious little girls, Shannon and Hannah, decided they would put on a ballet for me. They were just magnificent with their ballet moves.

Eating my biscuits, I just sat there and watched those beautiful little girls twirl around me as I finished breakfast. This wonderful ballet treat made me give thanks for creative art. Let me encourage you to offer praise to the Lord for talented singers, songwriters and musicians. You never know, when we get to heaven, there may be angels twirling, dancing ballet as we are eating breakfast. I am sure there will be music far more beautiful than we could possibly comprehend.

King David understood the importance of music as he was an accomplished harpist. We read in Psalm 33:1-3 (NKJV):

“Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous! For praise from the upright is beautiful. Praise the LORD with the harp; Make melody to Him with an instrument of ten strings. Sing to Him a new song; Play skillfully with a shout of joy.”

Rejoicing in the Lord and worshipping Him is not reserved just for church. We are encouraged to sing to Him, dance before Him, play instruments unto Him and praise Him with our whole being for He is worthy of all our praise.
