Call on the Father
Sometimes it feels to me like God moves the whole world just to make things happen for the good. A woman in Virginia heard Rivers of the World (ROW) on the radio awhile back and decided to begin supporting us through her organization, An Open Chair Inc. She provides us with little white chairs that have the words, “Be Still And Know.” We use the chairs in our ministry to remind people that the Lord is near to them no matter what they are going through.
I was asked to come and preach at a church in Missouri. Upon arrival, we set up a table with ROW items and some of those little chairs. A couple of days later I received a letter from a woman, Ali Gonzales, who was really down because she was worried about her friend who was suffering from pancreatic cancer. She told me how she had seen the little chairs on our table, had picked one up and brought it to her friend in the hospital. That tiny little chair with such a simple message on it brightened Ali’s friend’s day dramatically.
I just think it is wonderful when people recognize and give thanks for the fact that God loves us so very much. If Jesus is Lord of your life, then you have this promise that you can cling to in Psalm 145:17-19:
“The LORD is righteous in all his ways and loving toward all he has made. The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.”
Jesus is faithful to hear our prayers and to bring to pass the godly desires of our hearts. More than anything, the Lord is gracious to save us from a life of sin if we only call upon the Father.
