Care For His People
Don’t you just think my Twitter, Myspace, Facebook thingy is incredible? My staff at Rivers of the World (ROW) insisted that I join one of these social networks and it has been hilarious. I have found friends through Facebook that I have not talked with since high school!
Of course not one of us has gotten any older in over 30 years, we still have all of our original hair, nobody has gained a pound and life has been extraordinarily successful for everybody! Once you get past all of the superficial nonsense, you find out that most people’s interests are similar. People like good movies, many love the Bible and they love their families.
I believe these common interests are what bring us together. When we get past how good we all look, we can begin talking about things that really matter. Let me encourage you today to overcome your fear of getting too close to people. Step out of your comfort zone and let people know that you are there for them and that you care for them, in the same manner in which Christ cares for His people.
Start today by reading and meditating upon Psalm 8:3-4:
“When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?”
We are all a part of God’s magnificent, glorious creation. He cares for each of us individually and He expects us to follow His example by caring for His people.
