Care For Those in Need
AIDS is a fact of life in much of Africa and its victims include countless children. The Lord has led Rivers of the World (ROW) to establish an orphanage in the Congo for 400 children left parentless due to AIDS. A well is needed to provide clean water for these 400 children, the staff and teachers of the orphanage, the clinic and the school. The cost is $26,000 for a well, which would provide this basic necessity of life.
If just 1/1,000th of 1 percent of ROW’s KLOVE radio listeners assisted us, we would have enough funds to drill this very expensive well. To put this into perspective, that is merely 260 generous individuals each contributing $100 for this project.
God’s word states in Proverbs 14:21:
“He who despises his neighbor sins, but blessed is he who is kind to the needy.”
His word further states in Proverbs 14:31:
“He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.”
God’s word is clear, if we care for the needy, the orphans of this world, we honor God. In essence, when we assist someone in need, it is as though we are doing this deed as unto Jesus Himself. Think about this and pray for the Lord to show you how you can help care for these orphans. Perhaps He will impress upon your heart to send a contribution for us to provide this well for the orphanage. Or, He may simply direct you to pray daily for our ROW staff, our volunteers and all our ministry efforts worldwide.
