Catch the Vision

Published by kclack under Church, Scripture

Have you ever fallen into the trap of thinking the Church is no longer relative to the times and is simply dead? I implore you not to believe that lie.

Peace Like a River

Published by kclack under Church, Congo

Be honest, what do you normally do when God tells you to do something that you really do not want to do? If you desire to remain in His will then it would be in your best interest to be obedient to His leading. Our ministry at Rivers of the World (ROW) is centered along rivers, often located deep within jungles.

Enter His Courts With Praise

Published by kclack under Church, Congo, Worship

One of my most favorite words is twasakadila. It is a Tshiluba word that means thank you. It comes from a term that expresses buying a bag of beans in the marketplace and asking somebody to put a little more on top.

One Body

Published by kclack under Blessings, Church, Dominican Republic

I was reminded on my trip in mid-March to Barahona in the Dominican Republic that as Christians we have family all over the world. While there, I worked beside Thomas and Sarai Ann Webb of Meridian, Miss. and Pastor Pedro Kery Johnson from Barahona, located on the southwest side of the country along the Caribbean Sea. We celebrated putting some concrete floors in the homes of families in some very poor parts of the Dominican Republic.

Fan the Flames

Published by kclack under Church, Scripture

I just love the way the Lord uses some of us to light up a party, no matter what. I recently spoke on the phone with my wife, Dr. Mickie Mathes, who is living in the Middle East. As many of you might know by now, she recently finished her last round of chemotherapy for a very difficult form of cancer and is now wearing a wig.

Count to Ten

Published by kclack under Church, Nicaragua

There are just people in this life that we deal with who come across as being pushy, aren’t there? I do believe that I have just been with one of the pushiest people I have ever met. Instantly I was tempted to get all my hackles up and to take offense but then fortunately I stopped a second and thought, “Why don’t you just listen to what he’s got to say, instead.”

Make a Joyful Noise

Published by kclack under Church, Nicaragua, Worship

It was Sunday morning in Bluefields, Nicaragua, when I took a walk that changed my life. I was crossing a bridge over a small stream that runs through the beautiful town of Bluefields when I heard the congregation of a church about 200 yards away that had gathered to worship. The worship service included drums, guitars, organs, tambourines, a piano and voices that just lifted the Word to heaven. My senses just came alive and it was so exciting!

Remain Pliable

Published by kclack under Church, Serving

Someone finally figured it out and it made all the sense in the world. As many of you know, I enjoy traveling to visit different churches to share with folks about the ministry of Rivers of the World (ROW) and to try and get people involved around the country. This part of my ministry is so much fun and I simply adore how the Lord continues to show His people new ways to attract folks to church.

One Lord

Published by kclack under Church, Friends

One of the highlights of my travels is visiting with folks across our radio listening audience. I recently had so much fun visiting two churches in Omaha, Neb. Several of the men took me hunting and we just had the best time! They took a Georgia boy out in nine-degree weather and about a foot of snow! It was incredible.
