Model Integrity

Published by kclack under Congo, Giving

Please, if you see something that is wrong do not walk by, do not ignore it and do not forget about it. Instead, do something about it! For the first time in over 30 years of ministry, I had a church call me and tell me that they needed their contribution back that they had given to Rivers of the World (ROW) because their church was going through a difficult financial time. The person who called me was so embarrassed. Of course we sent the money back to them.

Peace Like a River

Published by kclack under Church, Congo

Be honest, what do you normally do when God tells you to do something that you really do not want to do? If you desire to remain in His will then it would be in your best interest to be obedient to His leading. Our ministry at Rivers of the World (ROW) is centered along rivers, often located deep within jungles.

Traditions of Men

Published by kclack under Congo, Family

Most families have certain ways of doing things, don’t they? You probably feel that your family celebrates the holidays like no other family. Your family travels to destinations unlike other families. When a new person is added to the family, such as through marriage, it may seem a bit awkward until that person gets used to the way things are done in your family.

Children of God

Published by kclack under Congo, Love

I traveled to the Democratic Republic of the Congo in June and I must tell you this part of the world is so hot, it is so dusty, it is so crowded and the needs there seem so endless. We visited the orphanage recently completed in Kinshasa. Through much prayer and generous support, Rivers of the World (ROW) built the orphanage and installed a well in Kinshasa, constructed a library for the school attached to the orphanage, outfitted the students with school supplies, and provided food and caps for all the children.

Sweeter Than Honey

Published by kclack under Congo, Scripture

At times when it seems as if life is standing still and nothing appears to be happening that is when I say, “Full steam ahead!” This is a term Rivers of the World (ROW) uses to get the engines up and going on our ships. We say, “Full steam ahead!” and charge on down the river.

Have you noticed how quickly time flies when you are serving the Lord? It is hard to believe but it has been almost two years since Rivers of the World (ROW) started building the orphanage in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic (DR) of the Congo.

To Know Him More

Published by kclack under Congo, Prayer

Do you ever have trouble focusing on things? Recently, I literally had trouble focusing on things. I got frustrated because I couldn’t find my glasses, which of course made it difficult to focus and see. I realize it is just a matter of age and I am certain I will eventually find my glasses!

Equipped For Life

Published by kclack under Congo

There is a lot happening in June for Rivers of the World (ROW) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. ROW’s Congo-Kasai director is Jimmy Shafe, who is a wonderful, wonderful man. He and several others are currently in the region conducting several projects, including a stop at the School for Single Mothers in Tshikaji, located just outside of Kananga.

Enter His Courts With Praise

Published by kclack under Church, Congo, Worship

One of my most favorite words is twasakadila. It is a Tshiluba word that means thank you. It comes from a term that expresses buying a bag of beans in the marketplace and asking somebody to put a little more on top.

Harvest Field

Published by kclack under Congo, Witness

After being home for three weeks, it is now time to ask everyone to begin praying. By the time you read this, I will be in the Democratic Republic (DR) of the Congo. That means much excitement, challenges and the vast need for intercessory prayers.
