Forgiveness

Published by kclack under Family, Forgiveness

I’ve got a basket, do you have a basket? Honestly, everybody has a basket! As we celebrate Father’s Day tomorrow, many of us have baskets that are likely full of stones. Some of us pick up the stones and hurl insults at our fathers and some use the stones to create a wall to separate them from any further hurt.

Safe Harbor

Published by kclack under Faith, Family, Iraq

I returned from a trip to Iraq recently where I had the privilege of serving with our troops. If I had the opportunity to personally talk with some of the parents of these young men and women I would tell them what a great job their grown children are doing.

Commandment With a Promise

Published by kclack under Family

Well, it is either one thing or it’s your mother! Yep, it is that time of year again when we wish all moms, grandmothers and great-great-grandmothers a very Happy Mother’s Day. Mothers, you have stood beside us through absolutely everything in our lives. You have chastised us, loved us, forgiven us, encouraged us or have taken the time to sit down with us to have those very serious talks. Continue Reading »

Carry the Word

Published by kclack under Family, Scripture, Travel

Now don’t any of you accuse me of witchcraft, voodoo or superstition because of some of the things that I carry with me on my travels. I would like to hear some of your stories, though.

Family Responsibilities

Published by kclack under Family, Scripture

We just celebrated Easter and now it’s time to celebrate the birthday of my youngest son, Adam, and my mother. While rejoicing in our risen Savior, I’m trying to figure out how to get all the family to come from here, there and yonder for a big celebration.

Knit Together

Published by kclack under Children, Family

My newest friend, Thomas Price Fogarty, is going to have an amazing life! Thomas Price was just born and what a wonderful way to begin the new year! I just did something that I love doing and I hope you will take this idea and use it yourself. Whenever a baby is born into your family, take the time to write that baby his or her first letter.

Higher Calling

Published by kclack under Blessings, Family

Family and friends are scattered all over the world this time of the year and we really long for them to be home with us. During the Christmas season we are bombarded with all those television commercials showing Joey who has just arrived back from the front lines, he walks up the steps, knocks on the door and surprises Mom and the rest of the family. It is tempting to be a bit upset because we want our loved ones home too.

Nearness of God

Published by kclack under Family, Friends, Prayer

There is a very special group of people that I want to talk to today. Your children may be grown and gone and because you live miles apart you are unable to get together for Christmas. Perhaps you have lost a spouse for one reason or another, or you just don’t have a spouse. You may even be at a place in your life where your pets are no longer around. It is the Christmas season and it may be a bit difficult for you.

Partnering in Prayer

Published by kclack under Family, Iraq, Prayer

You know, it seems to me that supporters of Rivers of the World (ROW) have been praying for my family for years. I want all of you to know that I am so grateful for your faithful prayers, especially for my youngest son, Adam, who served three tours in Iraq in the Marine Corps.
