As many of you know Iran landed military troops in Nicaragua and I believe they did so in order to learn about life in this part of the world. Surely they came to better understand Christianity! In February Rivers of the World (ROW) began several projects in Monkey Point, Nicaragua because that is also where the Iranian Revolutionary Guard landed troops in November 2007.

I just love it when people are on fire for the Lord and they charge ahead with no thought or regard for their personal safety. Some of our men traveled across a small island in the Caribbean that is not particularly friendly to America. It is a Spanish speaking country, which consists of very old automobiles for transportation.

This is the time of year that buses, trains, boats, automobiles, planes and any other form of transportation you can think of are filling to capacity with missionaries who are heading to isolated areas in the United States and to the most remote corners of the world.

Have you ever spent a leisurely afternoon watching nature programs featuring the migration of animals? You witness Barren Ground Caribou numbering in the tens of thousands traveling hundreds of miles between their summer and wintering grounds. I hate to admit it but my office floor is a mess. Sitting in my chair I scan my office and I see piles of stuff covering my office floor. There is an air mattress, a bivy sack for sleeping outdoors and there is this thing called a cocoon that 3 made for me so that I can sleep out in the jungle.

The birds are singing, the fragrance of the flowers blooming fills the air and it is a wonderful time to be outdoors. I just love springtime! It is a great time to take walks and that is exactly what I did last week while in the Dominican Republic. The cities are beautiful, the countryside is gorgeous and green and there are precious people all around who would love to hear about Jesus.

Rivers of the World (ROW) has recently taken some steps to ensure the gospel of Jesus Christ goes forth in Nicaragua, even to visitors from Iran. There is no way to describe how surprised the people of Monkey Point, Nicaragua were when Revolutionary Guard troops from Iran stepped off helicopters and into their village in November 2007.
