Christ Is My Strength
This week I will be broadcasting by the miracle of wireless satellite technology. I am in the jungles of Southern Belize, 60 miles up the Temash River. We call our young staff “the boys in the band.” They have been working on something that has been a real blessing.
These Rivers of the World (ROW) staff went to Punta Gorda and bought all the steel, concrete and tin they needed for the construction of a church. They managed to haul all the supplies 60 miles into the jungle for the construction of a new church in the village of Crique Sarco. This week, I will be with Pastor Pedro Bo and his congregation as we dedicate this church to the Lord.
I want to publicly say thank you to ROW staff Nick Beazley, senior field director, and Drew McIlreavy, senior program director/Leadership, Exploration and Adventure Program (LEAP) director. I also want to thank all of our ROW folks who worked so hard to construct this church in Belize. This was an amazing challenge that these dedicated people accepted in the name of Christ. They did this realizing that whether they are building a church or just living their lives, they can do all things through Christ who strengthens them.
No matter what circumstances surround you and regardless of the obligations you have today, I encourage you to meditate upon Paul’s teaching in Philippians 4:13, (Amplified):
“I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency].”
