Confidently Trust Jesus

If you happen to be driving through the Frankfurt, Ky. area, keep your eyes open for the White Light Diner, located at 114 Bridge Street in downtown Frankfurt. The historic diner has been in operation since 1943. My friends Rick and Zachary run the place. Specifically, Chef Rick Paul has been operating the diner for 20 years.

The first thing you will likely notice when you stop by the diner is the colorful poster they recently placed in the window. It’s a poster that has one of my favorite people in the whole wide world on it. The newly created poster features Rivers of the World’s (ROW) Executive Administrator, 3, posing as Rosie the Riveter. It shows 3 flexing her right arm muscle, adorned with a tattoo of the number 3, with a caption above her head that reads, “3 Says…We Can Do It!”

What I like about this poster is the message, “We can do it!” Despite the rising unemployment rate, irregardless of the difficult financial times we may be facing and in spite of whatever troubles we may be dealing with, we can survive and do so praising God. We can still serve the Lord, we can rejoice because of His grace and mercy and we can have a glorious day, every day, if we will simply remember, “We can do it!”

The secret to our strength, determination and joy is found in Psalm 27:7 (Amplified):

“The Lord is my Strength and my [impenetrable] Shield; my heart trusts in, relies on, and confidently leans on Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song will I praise Him.”

All we have to do is take a quick review over our life as a Christian and we can readily see God’s hand in the midst of our trials and we can see His blessings through it all. No matter what you may be facing today, confidently trust Jesus to see you through.
