Cry Out to the Lord

[ 0 ] October 26, 2008 |

Do you recall those times in your life when you tripped and fell, were stricken with a terrible sickness or just stubbed your toe against something? Do you remember during those times feeling so miserable or hurting so badly you simply wanted to feel better again?

I recently returned from Venezuela where I now have some new friends in the Orinoco River Delta. These folks live in very primitive conditions compared to Americans and their teeth are simply a disaster. Many of the children deal with constant pain because their teeth have basically rotted away from chewing on sugarcane all the time. It is almost unbearable for them to live that way and it was unbearable for me to see them suffering.

We know that during Christ’s ministry He responded to the plea of so many who were suffering and demonstrated compassion upon them by healing them. All we have to do when we are suffering, whether physically or otherwise, is to simply call upon the name of Jesus. I’m asking fellow Christians to first pray for these precious people in Venezuela. I’m also calling upon everyone to seek the Lord in how you personally can help these people in need. Do you know a dentist, or two or three, or are you a dentist who would be willing to donate your time and talents to assist the people in the Orinoco River Delta of Venezuela? We need to mobilize a crew to travel to this part of the world to relieve some horrible suffering among some very dear people in Venezuela.

When we are suffering or know someone who is enduring much pain, we can hold tight to the promise found in Psalm 22:24:

“For he has not despised or disdained the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.”

Take heart today, dear Christian, God does understand all that troubles you and He cares for you and all who are important to you.
