Equipping Believers
I have just returned from Monkey Point, Nicaragua where we enjoyed a week of celebration. We were there to deliver a new boat, Miss Megan, to the people of the village. She will be used by the villagers as part of our overall ministry in that part of the world.
The people of Monkey Point are primarily farmers and fishermen. They use dugout canoes as their primary mode of transportation to bring fish and produce to market in Bluefields, located north of Monkey Point. The soil of Monkey Point is rich and wonderful for growing beans, rice, bananas, coconut and cassava, a tropical plant with edible roots.
This little boat will be funded by Rivers of the World (ROW) for a year, allowing the people of Monkey Point to sell their crops at market. Some of the profits made will be used to form a rotating fuel fund. In a year the villagers will take over funding for Miss Megan. It is so wonderful when ROW is able to provide something as simple as a small boat that enables a village to be self-sufficient and better equipped to do more for the Lord and others.
My prayer for you today is found in Hebrews 13:20-21 (NKJV):
“Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.”
It is Jesus’ desire to mold us into His image so that we are better equipped to do the specific work He designed especially for us to bless His people and to bring honor and glory to God.
