Face It

[ 0 ] April 26, 2010 |

You have put it off long enough and you know that you must face them and it probably will not be easy. Have you thought about how you’re going to do this? Will you cower, not show up or will you simply try to make excuses? Perhaps you will just attempt to blame somebody else.

Many of us can relate to these reactions when we are faced with uncomfortable situations. We recently celebrated Palm Sunday, the time of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, the week before His death and resurrection. Christ didn’t choose a beautiful stallion to ride, but instead, He very humbly rode into Jerusalem on the back of a young donkey. He had nothing to prove because He was certain of His future.

Christ already knew what He was going to face and He did not back down, nor did He run from the inevitable. Jesus knew the victory that would be His in the end. If you are facing persecution, opposition or adversity, stand your ground and know that you too have victory in our Lord and Savior.

Be encouraged today by reading Romans 8:37-39:

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

There is no amount of trouble, persecution or hardships that we could possibly face in this lifetime that could ever separate us from Christ’s unending love for us. You may not measure up to much in the eyes of the world, but take comfort in knowing that you are cherished and loved by God.
