Firmly Planted
Many folks have been enjoying the warm summer months of July. Well, I took a little detour this month and traveled to a place that experiences winter from May through September. I crossed over into the Southern Hemisphere and spent some time in Paraguay and Argentina.
While many people were enjoying temperatures in the 80s and 90s, I was bundled up in Paraguay and Argentina with temperatures in the 40s and 50s. Moreover, let’s not forget the rain! This was the first time for me to travel to that part of the world. The purpose of the trip was to search for new ministry opportunities in that region of South America. When you feel led by God to branch out and do something new for Him, it is best to just surrender to the Lord. I had to say to myself, “Okay, Lord, I know we are supposed to be in these countries so I pray that you lead me, open doors according to your will and show me how I can serve you in this part of the world.”
I would ask that you continue to pray for Rivers of the World (ROW) as we seek to discover new opportunities to serve the Lord in South America and wherever else He may lead us.
Do you desire to experience God in a completely new way? Do you long to have a deeper more intimate relationship with Christ? Are you striving to hear His still small voice more clearly so you can pursue the plans and desires He has for your life? Let me encourage you to read Psalm 1:1-3 (Amplified), which will give you an idea how we can be blessed and prosper if we remain firmly planted in the Word of God:
“BLESSED (HAPPY, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather. But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity].”
If God has given you a vision for your future than I implore you to hold tightly to that vision and do not allow the naysayers of this world to deter, distract or discourage you from everything that God has in store for your life.
