Free Indeed

Published by kclack at 11:18 pm under Giving

I simply do not do guilt very well. In Christ, we are set free and no longer do we have to beat ourselves up with guilt. God’s word tells us in John 8:36:

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

It is that simple—accept Christ as your Lord and Savior and He sets you free from the weight of your sins.

As you finish the Thanksgiving meal this year and slide onto the coach with a full stomach, don’t even think about feeling guilty because you ate so much. Instead, I want you to think about the recent typhoon that destroyed part of Vietnam. Don’t focus upon the tragedy, but instead upon how Rivers of the World (ROW) was able to meet the needs of 481 people. We gave them almost 3,000 kilograms of rice, 13,500 packages of noodles and 41 blankets to pass out. This really made a difference in so many people’s lives.

When I consider all that we have here in the United States, I never feel guilty. I think if we have this much prosperity and abundance then just think about how much we could do in Jesus’ name to lessen the needs in other people’s lives.

Take a moment today and examine what you may have in excess in your life. Is it free time, extra money, a spare vehicle or closets full of clothes and other items that are never used. Now pray and seek the Lord for how you can be an answer to someone’s prayer today by meeting their needs.
