From East to West

[ 0 ] September 7, 2009 |

I love when I receive simple reminders that the Lord is a bright and shining light in my life. Just the other night we were getting one of those loud and dynamic thunderstorms characteristic in the South. The storm arrived in the middle of the night and it was magnificent!

I just had to get out of bed and witness the powerful storm. I jumped out of bed, made a mad dash to the upstairs porch and stood outside in the dark when all of a sudden the lightning just lit up my world! It was then in that instant when night became day that I suddenly remembered that I didn’t have on a stitch of clothing! I began to laugh and immediately dove back in the house thanking the Lord that nobody saw me out on my porch with no clothes! I also remembered that the Lord is my light and my salvation and I have nothing to fear. (Psalm 27:1).

I think it is fun, and healthy, when we laugh at our embarrassing moments. I sure don’t mind sharing them with you! I also want to share with you that there are some exciting things happening with Rivers of the World (ROW) and I would encourage you to stop by www.row.org to read the latest news and check out the videos and photos posted recently.

We do get some powerful thunderstorms in the South but no storm that we experience here on earth could possibly compare to how Christ will return. We are told in Luke 17:24:

“For the Son of Man in his day will be like the lightning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other.”

During these last days, we may hear reports about Christ’s return. I implore you to not believe any such claim. When Jesus returns for His children, it will be so evident throughout the world, there will be no need to spread the news.
