Get Busy

When we think big for the Lord, it does not necessarily have to involve large numbers of people. Rivers of the World (ROW) is thinking big this month in the Congo and in Brazil with what we call microeconomic projects. In Kenya ROW helped a man buy two chickens, which enabled him to start an egg business. Another microeconomic project is taking a sewing machine to the middle of the Congo and teaching people how to sew and how to turn that skill into a job that provides school uniforms for children.

Penny and her team are heading to Fortaleza, Brazil where they will be working in rural areas helping farmers get just a few more implements for farming the land to increase the yield of their crops. We might not be influencing huge numbers of people but the folks who are being touched are having their lives changed forever. These people will then turn around and influence someone else’s life for Jesus Christ.

As you start your day today, may I encourage you to make Psalm 90:17 your prayer? It states:

“May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us-yes, establish the work of our hands.”

As a Christian, we should have the desire for all that we do to be reflective of the One who lives within us. Allow Christ to permeate your life so much that whether your job is sweeping floors, inputting data into a computer, operating a business, bagging groceries or supervising a team for a huge corporation, it all counts for Christ.
