Go God!
Social sites on the Internet have gotten my attention. My young staff insisted I create a “spacebook” and “myface” page, or whatever they are called! Do you know what seems to be the most popular discussion on these sites this time of year? People spend hours on these sites and they post all sorts of things to let people know they’re rooting for their particular football team!
I have never seen anything like this in my entire life! On one hand, it all appears so exciting and fun, but on the other hand, I wish these people were equally pumped up about their church and their Christian fellowship. This time of year you don’t have to travel far to see people wearing a jersey supporting their team. These folks gather for tailgate parties before a game and then they spend the entire time yelling and screaming for their team to win!
When was the last time you witnessed a Christian yelling and screaming, “Go God!” Or, “Glory to God, thank you Jesus for another answer to prayer!” Do we have any pumped up and excited Christians out there who visit these social network sites? If you are one, might I suggest you post something joyful about your church or something exciting that God has done in your life or in the life of someone you know?
If anyone had a reason to praise God it was certainly King David. God was faithful to protect David and the children of Israel. He was also faithful in justly taking care of David’s enemies. For those who followed God, David said in Psalm 68:3:
“But may the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful.”
No matter what our present circumstances are, every person who calls himself or herself a Christian has at least one reason to shout for joy. That reason is because you have been delivered, set free and redeemed by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!
