Goodness Beyond Measure
I don’t know about you but I think the Lord has a wonderful sense of humor! When God wants to get things done, He will make sure it happens no matter what.
The last time I was in Honduras, I made a deal with the Lord. We had 3,500 children in Vacation Bible School. Our team had to cook hot dogs for all those children! Now, I love hot dogs as much as anyone else does, but, 3,500 of them! After this experience, I made a deal with the Lord. My deal was, “I am not going to do that again!”
On my recent trip to Honduras, we didn’t have to cook that many hot dogs because we only had 1,000 children for Vacation Bible School! My goodness, what excitement and joy serving those children!
It is so much fun to serve the Lord around the world. You really need to be willing to laugh when the Lord brings funny experiences into your life, like cooking 3,500 hot dogs!
If you took the time today to examine the many ways God has blessed you and enriched your life recently, I bet you would proclaim, like the Psalmist in Psalm 116:12:
“How can I repay the LORD for all his goodness to me?”
The best way to demonstrate our appreciation to the Lord for His goodness is to simply be obedient to Him. If He prompts you to give a little more in the offering plate Sunday morning at church, respond in obedience out of love for Him. If the Lord asks you to speak to that coworker who rubs you the wrong way, submit to Christ and love that person as He would. Find ways today to repay the Lord for His goodness beyond measure in your life.
