Great Timing!
Do you have someone in your life who calls at the worst possible time? My friend, bleep, bleep, calls me whenever I am taking a nap, right in the middle of something important and every other inconvenient time you can imagine! This most recent phone call, though, was well worth it!
We started dreaming and scheming. That is always fun and exciting! We spoke about my trip to the Democratic Republic of the Congo this month and the plans for Rivers of the World (ROW) to build a new barge that will be pushed up and down the Congo River. The barge will deliver supplies to missionaries and hospitals along this waterway. The top of the barge will be transformed into a floating clinic.
Picture a huge barge stopping for a night along the Congo River, docked near a village. This would give us the opportunity to preach the gospel, hold a medical clinic and then move on the next day and do it all over again in another village. Hey, how about if we added a well drilling machine to the ship, which would enable us to also drill wells. We could provide physical water to people in villages along with the life-giving water found in the gospel.
I just love creative ideas like that and all of this came from a very inconvenient phone call! Let me encourage you to set no limits to your dreams. If you’re dreams are easily attainable then there is no opportunity for God to move and have His way in your life. Allow yourself to formulate visions for your future, but never forget the wise counsel found in Proverbs 19:21 (Amplified):
“Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand.”
Seek the Lord and His will for your life before you launch out to fulfill your dreams and plans for the future.
