He Conquered it All
Many of you know how much I love Christmas. I also enjoy celebrating Good Friday but it is all about Easter for those who serve the Lord. I do hope all of you had a blessed Easter and were able to reflect upon the fact that we serve a risen Savior.
I was particularly excited about Easter this year for another reason. It marked two weeks before my return trip to Iraq. I’ll be visiting with our troops and I’ll have a chance to be imbedded with one of my former staff members. I am so excited!
This will be a wonderful opportunity to share with the troops the good news of the victory we can have in Jesus Christ. I might even have a chance to share this with citizens from that part of the world. I will be traveling to Iraq knowing with all certainty that for those who have accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior, they have a victory like no other.
Easter signifies how Christ’s sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection from the grave took away the sting of death for all mankind. This one act by Jesus also fulfilled the law that was inadequate to save people from their sins. Take a look at 1 Corinthians 15:56-57 (Amplified):
“Now sin is the sting of death, and sin exercises its power [upon the soul] through [the abuse of] the Law. But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Christ conquered death, took away the power of sin upon our lives, and enabled us to be more than conquerors in this life. For that, let’s praise His holy name!
