His Divine Plan

[ 2 ] March 26, 2009 |

If you keep your eyes open you will notice that the Lord places people in your path just when you need them. Let me give you a recent example. I ran into my friend Allison, whom I haven’t seen in about two years, and asked her, “Tell me what you’re up to these days.” Would you believe she is getting ready to go to Mongolia, live with a nomadic tribe and spend her time residing in a yurt, better known as a ger in Mongolia. These dome-shaped structures are designed to withstand the harsh weather conditions in this country, located in East and Central Asia, near Russia and China.

Allison asked me, “Do you know anyone from Mongolia?” I’ve done a lot of traveling to many different countries through the years but I had to tell her, “Ah, no, not right off the top of my head!” Right after this encounter with Allison, one of my staff members, Roper, stopped by and visited with me for the weekend. Roper has a dear friend who just came back from Mongolia and she wanted to tell me all about it.

We went out to eat sushi at a restaurant that just so happens to be operated by people from…you guessed it, Mongolia! The restaurant is located about a mile from where Allison lives. Are all of these events coincidental? I don’t believe so. I believe all these people will be able to work together to help Allison be at peace about heading to a remote area in Mongolia.

God is so faithful to provide the resources and people we need to accomplish the plans He has for our lives. Let me remind you, according to Proverbs 16:9:

“In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.”

It’s great to establish goals and make plans, prayerfully, but don’t forget that ultimately His divine plan will be accomplished. Praise God for that! Pray today that the Lord will give you eyes to see a glimpse of His purpose for your life as seen through the daily events that occur and the people He brings across your path.

It is so very true. I was up and down throughout the night, heavily burdened for two individuals in my life who are walking similar paths. I opened my Bible this morning to find a scripture that might lift their spirits, none came to mind.

Then the Lord put Karin in my path this afternoon. “Coincidental? I don’t believe so.”

I know God has a plan for my friends, I have seen Him at work in their lives.

Proverbs 16:9 is the perfect verse. God is so good!

    Thanks!

    Cindy,
I am simply humbled and in awe at how God chose to use me to indirectly minister to a situation you were praying about. I pray before I select a scripture for each devotion and I did a lot of praying before I chose this scripture because it took over a hour to find just the right verse to tie in with the devotion. God is so very good! May the Lord intervene in the lives of these two individuals and open their eyes to the truth that God is truly in control of all our circumstances. He will never leave us, nor forsake us.
God’s richest blessings to you, KClack
