His Word Is Powerful
While there is nothing like putting a Bible in somebody’s hands, I love using technology to reach people from all over the world. By now, most of you are familiar with the solar powered, digital Bibles that Rivers of the World (ROW) distributes in the various countries that we serve.
We are in the process of using these powerful tools to welcome some folks to Central America, a group of people with a different language, culture and a sometimes very aggressive faith. We used the MegaVoice technology to translate the Word of God into one of their Middle Eastern languages.
Our intention is to encourage Christians in the Monkey Point area of Nicaragua to welcome these visitors from Iran with God’s Word and the love of Jesus Christ. Our brothers and sisters in Christ will distribute these audio players to Iranians as they arrive in Nicaragua and will use these devices as a way to introduce the visitors to Jesus and the faith of the folks in the area. The land around Monkey Point has been the home of the Creole folks in the area for generations. By understanding the faith of the folks at Monkey Point, it is our hope that the visitors from Iran and the government of Nicaragua will respect the rights of the indigenous peoples and their land ownership issues.
Will you join with me in prayer that the Lord empowers the people of Monkey Point with boldness and courage to minister to these visitors from Iran? Pray too that once they hear the Word of God in their own language that their hearts and lives will be transformed. We are so grateful that technology can be used to share the Good News of Jesus across the barriers of language, cultures and differing faiths!
We are assured in Hebrews 4:12 (Amplified):
“For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.”
