Keep Watch

[ 0 ] April 26, 2009 |

I’m curious. Would you be willing to try something new? It has dawned on me that Rivers of the World (ROW) has not been taking full advantage of our technological capabilities. Well, enough!

The first two weeks of June and about the last two weeks of August, I will be in the Democratic Republic of Congo, then in Venezuela. It seems to me that we should take advantage of the fact that I will have Internet and telephone capabilities out in the jungle. I can send pictures to your web site if you are interested in having your school, your church or your Sunday school class witness what we are doing in the field as it happens.

You can even call me and we can work out the details in order to share the exciting work of the Lord with your class, congregation or friends and family. This is a wonderful opportunity to see firsthand the work ROW does in some very remote places from around the world. You can contact me by visiting www.row.org or at ben@row.org.

As Christians, we know that Christ’s return is imminent. What we don’t know is the day or the hour. That is why Jesus warns us in Matthew 24:42:

“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.”

Jesus further tells us that when that day unfolds, one person in the field will be taken while the other will remain. In modern terms, one individual working at a factory will suddenly disappear. If you are not saved, you will witness the person driving next to you instantly vanish. Church services will come to a halt as people disappear. Who knows, you may be watching ROW doing work in Honduras, Vietnam or the Dominican Republic via the Internet and suddenly we will be no more!
