Knit Together
My newest friend, Thomas Price Fogarty, is going to have an amazing life! Thomas Price was just born and what a wonderful way to begin the new year! I just did something that I love doing and I hope you will take this idea and use it yourself. Whenever a baby is born into your family, take the time to write that baby his or her first letter.
In the letter, welcome the new baby into his or her world and give the child a head’s up about his or her parents. Let the baby know that Mom may be sweet and lovely but she will not hesitate to give you a spanking if she needs to. Daddy, well he may not smell as good as Mommy does but I guarantee you that he will keep the monsters and dragons away from you.
As you are writing words of encouragement to your new addition to the family, don’t forget to also mention his or her other “parent.” Introduce him or her to God and read Psalm 139:13-16, which says:
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”
Do your best as this child grows and matures to convey the fact that God intimately knew him or her before he or she was even a thought and He knows the specific plan and purpose for his or her life. I am so proud that Thomas Price Fogarty has been born into this world and I just can’t wait to show him my world, filled with God’s wondrous creations.
