Labor of Love
If the Lord instructed you to build a boat, what would you do? Most of us would question if indeed it were the voice of God! Well, I am not Noah, I am Ben and the Lord has told us at Rivers of the World (ROW) to go and build a new ship in Peru.
This ship will be 100 feet long, 24 feet wide and three stories tall. The ship will be constructed and used as a hospital, serving people along the Amazon, Yanayaku, Apayaku, Nanay and other rivers in Peru.
Are you looking for a challenge in your life? Have you been praying and seeking a way to serve the Lord in a unique way? Let me encourage you to pray and ask the Lord if perhaps He would want you to offer your assistance to ROW as we construct this ship in Peru.
Building this ship is going to be quite an undertaking. It is not easy building such an enormous ship, especially in another country. It is also not easy organizing and coordinating a ministry such as this, but it is certainly a lot of fun and quite rewarding.
This ship will provide us a great opportunity to offer medicines for illnesses, provide cures for ailments and extend forth the healing hand of God on all those whom we encounter along the rivers in Peru. Above everything else, we will have a chance to show compassion and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout Peru.
A large part of the ministry of ROW is prayer—prayer for those who serve in the field, for our staff, for our generous donors and for all those folks we serve around the globe. Paul was faithful in praying for those who served him as well. He said in 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3:
“We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers. We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.”
We are always in need of volunteers so if you want to help us in this labor of love of building this ship in Peru, or with any other ROW ministry, visit www.row.org.
