Love One Another

[ 0 ] September 19, 2012 |

The pain I endured in my hip finally became too great so I recently got a new hip and that is when I learned a very valuable lesson in receiving love from others.

During my time of recuperating and healing, I have learned how important it is to listen to your doctor. I have also discovered how vital it is to allow your friends to care for you when you are hurting and in need. There is no point in trying to be strong. Let people love you and offer up prayers unto the Lord on your behalf. In so doing, we fulfill John 13:34-35, where Jesus said:

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Recovering from hip surgery has taught me to take it easy and to not push as hard as I would like because that would only upset my friends and my doctor. I’m leaning upon the everlasting arms of Jesus and relying upon my friends to assist me and pray for me. Would you mind if I also asked you to pray for my healing? I need to get strong and back out on the road so I can continue my travels. Perhaps one of those trips will include coming to your church!
