Meeting the Need
I just love how well our radio listeners respond to our requests for various needs. When we mentioned we needed Bibles, many folks collected Bibles. The only problem was people wanted to collect English Bibles. We serve in so many parts of the world that what we really need is Bibles in other languages. By the time we could ship the Bibles collected overseas it would cheaper to purchase Bibles in the native countries that we serve.
We stated a need for computers and everybody wanted to send computers to our friend in Montana. It is so exciting to have so many people respond to our needs.
There are four things that will change the world-the Gospel, technology, clean food and water, and shipping. Our problem is not gathering the items we need, it is shipping them overseas. If we cannot figure out how to get things overseas then we cannot get our job done.
What Rivers of the World (ROW) needs the most is for our listeners to help us to figure out how we can ship great quantities of items to other parts of the world economically. This is what will truly make a difference and allow us to continue in our mission of reaching people in need, all over the world.
In Exodus 31:2-3, God said to Moses:
“See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts…”
All of us, not just Bezalel, have certain gifts and talents that God has instilled within us. The key is to figure out what these gifts are and to use them to minister to others.
Today, dear Christian, seek to discover what your gifts and talents are and choose to use them to help those in need. If you would like to partner with Rivers of the World, in prayer, financially or by some other means, visit www.row.org to see how you can help.
