Mighty Protector
Many of our listeners and supporters have heard me talk about “3″ before, who is Rivers of the World’s (ROW) executive director. She simply goes by the name of “3,” just the number “3.” She handles all the behind the scenes details of this ministry.
3 has two little girls, Hannah and Shannon. Today was a very difficult day for 3, who had to walk her daughters to school and introduce them to their new class, teacher and then tell them, “I love you and I will see you later.” She had to let go of those girls and walk down that long hallway. She admitted to me that she got very teary eyed by this experience.
Many parents have experienced this difficult transition in their child’s life when it is time to let them go as they begin a new journey—school. I want to assure you that when you let go of your child’s hand God still firmly has His grip upon them. Just put your child’s life in Jesus’ hands and everything will be all right.
You can be certain that adults, and children, must be prepared to fight the evil forces of this world. The best weapon we have is prayer. Use this weapon often in the lives of your children—pray a mighty hedge of protection around them each day. Let us also cling to His word, especially 2 Thessalonians 3:3, which says:
“But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.”
